Buying from Kleyn
How do I find the right vehicle?

You have recently started a new business, you are expanding and therefore need a new vehicle or you just want to replace your old company vehicle. Whatever your situation, the decision to buy a new car is undoubtedly a very expensive one and therefore it must be the right decision! If you simply want to replace your old commercial vehicle, then you probably already have a reasonable idea what make and type of vehicle you need. But if you are buying a commercial vehicle for the first time, then it is often difficult to start anywhere.  What steps can you go through to reach the right decision:

  • First, ask yourself what kind of company car you need and what your budget is. 
  • Orient yourself on the internet and ask opinions from friends and acquaintances about their experiences with certain makes or types.
  • Find out which commercial vehicle providers are nearby and which ones appeal to you. Are they large or small brand dealers, used vehicle dealers or private individuals? 
  • Check out the providers that seem interesting to you and get informed about everything you want to know. Note: A brand dealer will tell you everything about only one brand! Only when you have seen, heard, tested and researched everything can you make a conscious choice!


How can I buy a vehicle from Kleyn?

Buying a van via Kleyn Vans is simple. When you visit us, you can test all vans on interest and make a test drive. If the van is as desired, you can immediately arrange financing, leasing or payment with the sales person. If you choose a delivery package 'Base', you can immediately take the van with you. In addition, we offer three ways to buy a vehicle remotely: 

  • You contact us by phone or WhatsApp. 
  • You send us an e-mail with the details of the van of interest. 
  • You leave your contact details via the website and we will contact you for the purchase of a specific vehicle.
Can I reserve a vehicle instead of buying it directly?

In consultation, the salesperson can provide you with the first option to buy a vehicle for up to 24 hours under the corresponding conditions. Feel free to ask us about these conditions.

How can I pay at Kleyn?

We accept the following payment methods: (international) bank transfer, debit card (Maestro/creditcard), cash or Letter of Credit. By invitation, you can pay via the website with your creditcard, Pay-Pal-account and in the Netherlands with iDeal.

Must I pay the full amount in one payment when I buy a vehicle?

Before the van is delivered, full payment is required. You can make a down payment of at least 10% of the total purchase price to reserve the van. The remaining amount needs to be paid within the prearranged time frame. The van will be ready for delivery as soon as the total amount appears in our account.

Can I pay with a letter of credit (L/C)?

Yes, we accept a confirmed irrevocable L/C as payment. Your bank will transfer the purchase amount once we have proved that the vehicles you bought have been transported. This method offers you even greater security. For more information, ask for our L/C terms and conditions.

Do you accept cheques?

No, we do not accept cheques. You can pay by (intentational) bank transfer, PIN (Maestro/creditcard), contant or Letter of Credit.

Selling to Kleyn
How can I sell my commercial vehicle(s) to you?

Simply request an offer for your vehicle and complete the form. One of our buyers will then contact you. You can also contact one of our salespeople directly via the following phone number: +31 183 668 444. In most cases, he/she would want to know whether the vehicle is free of lease or financing, assess the vehicle by receiving photos, the mileage at the moment of coming in and check the registration (papers). Additional information about the engine’s power and its condition, body condition, check engine signals etcetera will provide you with a better offer. We always provide you with the current market value and are very happy you offering us your vehicle. We need vehicles every week and know the current market. If you and the buyer make a deal, further agreements will be made regarding delivery into our grounds or picking them up on our trailers (incl. second pair of keys, remote controls and full registration, maintenance and information documents), your identification duty and the following bank payment.

Can I sell a large number of vehicles to you in one transaction?

Yes of course, our large global network means that we have to purchase large quantities of stock. Because of this, we can offer fleet managers a reliable disposal channel. Feel free to contact our buyers for your European region for further information via +31 183 668 444 or [email protected].

What payment terms apply when your company purchases vehicles?

What are the benefits when using a My Kleyn account?

A 'My Kleyn' account has many advantages. For example, you can: 

  • Sign and download your contract; 
  • Upload documents for the purpose of the order process; 
  • Manage you newsletter content; 
  • Track and trace current orders; 
  • Review and view completed orders; 
  • Track payments; 
  • Save a specified search; 
  • Easily update your personal and company information; 
  • Enjoy special benefits and offers that only 'My Kleyn' users receive.
How do I create a My Kleyn account?

When a contract is created, you will automatically receive an invitation for a 'My Kleyn' account. If you already have a 'My Kleyn' account, you can quickly and easily find the order among your current orders

Want to create your own account? This can be arranged in just a few clicks. Just follow these steps:

  1. Click on ‘Login’ at the top of the website. Besides logging in, you can also create your personal account here. 
  2. Fill in your details and create a password you can easily remember. 
  3. Then, you will  receive an e-mail with an activation link. It may end up in your spam box. 
  4. After activation, you will have your own ‘My Kleyn’ account.


I forgot my password. What should I do?

No problem. On the Login page, you can indicate that you have forgotten your password. When you click on it, you can reset your password and log in again.

Can I submit a search query?

Yes, through your ‘My Kleyn’ account you can indicate what you are looking for, save these query (or queries) and also activate an e-mail. You will receive an e-mail from us as soon as a vehicle that complies with your indicated specifications comes into stock.

How can I save a search query?

Saving a search query is easy. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in with your account.
  2. Click on catalogue in the menu to see our stock. 
  3. Enter characteristics of the vehicle you are looking for. For example, brand, age, or price. 
  4. Do you want this search to be saved for future use? Then press ‘Save’ and give the search a name. Your search has now been saved.
How do I delete my My Kleyn account?

It is not possible to delete your account yourself. If you want to delete your account, please send an e-mail to [email protected].

Do you offer a guarantee?

Within our delivery packages, you can opt for a guarantee. With the Safe or Class delivery package, you get 3 months of Real Garant Elite coverage for an additional cost. With the Base or Standard delivery package, our vehicles are delivered without a guarantee. You then bear the risk of any errors and defects yourself.

What is covered under the guarantee?

The warranty includes all permanently installed, factory assembled, mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic components of the vehicle that are not excluded by the warranty conditions.

Which countries are covered under the guarantee?

The guarantee applies within Europe in geographical terms.

What is the beginning and the duration of the guarantee?

The warranty commences on the date specified in the warranty certificate and terminates upon expiration of the agreed period (in time or mileage, whichever comes first) as stated in the warranty certificate, without the need for notice of termination.

Are all your vehicles inspected?

All vehicles entering our premises are TÜV Nord certified inspected. This means we check each vehicle for 20+ key points. Each vehicle is subjected to a test drive, including on the motorway. Anything that does not meet our standards, it is repaired before we offer the vehicle for sale. In addition, a wide selection of our vehicles have a valid MOT. Some of our vehicles come from abroad and therefore do not have a valid (Dutch) MOT. Our workshop is recognised by the RDW as an inspection station. Before you buy the van, it can be fully MOT-tested. This is standard within the Standard, Safe and Class delivery packages.

How can I be certain that the quality of a vehicle is as good as you promise?

With over 100 years of experience and a high rate of repeat customers, our professionalism is evident. All vehicles entering our stock undergo inspections according to TÜV Nord standards. You can find the inspection report on the vehicle detail page on our website. This is how we ensure quality and transparency, providing you with clarity about your purchase. In the unlikely event of serious, undisclosed defects, we will reimburse (part of) the repair costs.

Can I get additional guarantee?

For the Safe and Class delivery packages, you have the option to extend the standard three-month warranty to one or even two years. You are required to choose the duration at the outset.

What should I do when I have a breakdown?

Breakdowns on the road can occur even with a van that has been thoroughly inspected and certified by the MOT. Replacement transport solutions are available through the ANWB. If you have roadside assistance throughout Europe included, contact Real Garant at [email protected] or +31 (0)800 022 26 82.

Payment
Is Financial Lease also availale for me?

Financial lease is available for registered companies within the Netherlands.  If you own a company that is registered outside of the Netherlands, we conduct an additional examination of lease options for your country. Our sales staff will contact you upon receipt of the application form, and guide you through the leasing process.

Are your prices inclusive or exclusive of VAT (BTW)?

All prices shown are exclusive of VAT (BTW).

How does the VAT (BTW) beposit work for customers outside the EU?

You do not have to pay VAT (BTW) if you buy a vehicle that will be shipped outside the EU. You do however pay a VAT (BTW) deposit of average 10% of the purchase amount. When we get provided proof the vehicle left the EU at the place you informed us about on the contract and you provide us with your local registration you are refunded the deposit. After 12 months it’s redeemed into our account and can’t be claimed for.

Do I have to pay VAT (BTW) when I buy a vehicle from you?

You do not have to pay VAT (BTW) if you are domiciled in an EU member state outside the Netherlands and you have a valid VAT number. Transactions of this nature are intra-community supplies. In the case of Dutch customers, we have to charge 21% VAT (BTW). Business customers can, of course, reclaim the VAT (BTW) paid.


All prices shown are exclusive of VAT (BTW), because of our mostly business clients. When you don’t have a valid VAT number simply add 21% VAT, except when the vehicle is displayed as being a margin vehicle (0% VAT / BTW). So we can sell to private persons.


For companies we always check the validity of your VAT number in the international VIES system. You should have it activated for European transactions at your Chamber of Commerce in Europe.

How can I recognise invoices from Kleyn?

Always check that all information is correct and also check the account number on the invoice. Our account number is NL32 RABO 0317 8474 30. In addition, we always mail from an @kleyn domain and you can always your invoice in you My Kleyn account. Are these things not correct or in doubt? Please contact us.

What can I do if I doubt the authenticity of an invoice or e-mail?

Financing & lease
Why should I lease a used vehicle?

Leasing a used vehicle has several advantages:

  1. It is cheaper
    Similar to buying, leasing a vehicle is often cheaper. Note that this does not imply that you are leasing a 'old' vehicle; in fact, most of them are relatively new vehicles, typically two or three years old.
  2. A shorter contract term, so more flexibility
    Need a temporary solution for a project or expansion of work? Consider leasing as a smart temporary interim solution! Second-hand vehicles on lease have a shorter contract term, as the vehicles already have some mileage.
  3. Immediately operational
    Unlike a new vehicle, a used vehicle is already operational. This means you can hit the road almost immediately!
What are the advantages of leasing?

Leasing offers you convenience and certainty. With leasing, you pay a fixed monthly lease amount for the term of the lease. You don't have to use your own financial resources, and the financing is distinct from any other business finance you may have. As a result, you have financial awareness and the flexibility to drive a van without making a large investment.

Do I always have to pay the VAT in advance?

You usually pay VAT on the monthly installments.

Can I trade in a vehicle?

You can trade in your old vehicle, which can then be used as a down payment on the new vehicle. This will reduce the monthly installments.

Can I also lease without annual account?

Leasing without annual accounts is mostly not possible.

Should I always have to pay a deposit on the lease?

Yes, most leasing companies require a deposit on the lease contract of at least 20% of the vehicle's purchase value.

Delivery & transport
Can I take the vehicle with me immediately after purchase?

Yes, this is possible when you choose for the delivery package 'Base' and you have fulfilled the full payment . All vehicles offered on the Kleyn Vans website are physically present on the ground in Vuren, unless they are marked with an external location additional text at the remarks.

If I purchase a vehicle from you, how do the physical delivery and transfer work?

The physical transfer/delivery takes place after consultation with the customer. The reasonable period within which delivery occurs depends on what has been agreed method of delivery. The customer can handle the delivery and pick up the vehicle themselves. Alternatively, we can also arrange delivery on behalf of the customer. In that case, transportation by road or (CIF) transshipment will be arranged (at customer’s expense, unless otherwise agreed).

I am coming to pick up a vehicle. Where should I go?

Please report our reception at entry 05 first. Then, we will immediately inform one of our delivery managers. They will accompany you to your van, prepare all the paperwork and discuss the necessary details with you. You can leave almost immediately with your newly purchased van. It couldn't be simpler or faster.


Is your new vehicle located in Genemuiden or Bussels? Then, we will agree with you where to pick up the vehicle.

I am coming to drop off my sold vehicle. Where should I go?

You can turn your vehicle in at our Drop Off Department (entry 06). Our colleagues at this location will process the vehicle and its registration number. If you are trading in your vehicle, please bring to our Delivery department (entry 05). Don't forget to bring the complete vehicle registration documents.


Prefer to deliver your sold vehicle in Genemuiden or Brussels? Let us know, we will arrange a suitable location for the delivery.

Can you arrange shipping?

Yes, we can ship the vehicle you have purchased to any destination in the world. Road transport is typically used for European destinations. For more remote locations, we arrange transportation to a Dutch or Belgian seaport. From there, your vehicle is shipped to the destination country. For each vehicle on our website, you can request an estimate of the transport costs to the most common destinations worldwide.

How can I obtain the required shipping and export documents?

We have a specialized department that arranges all the paperwork for you. Our worldwide presence and extensive experience mean that our staff can provide expert assistance with the shipment of vehicles to almost any country in the world. In most countries we also have agents who can assist.

How can I ship multiple vehicles as efficiently as possible?

We will help you to transport multiple vehicles as efficiently as possible at the lowest possible costs. Kleyn Vans has the equipment to do this for you. We are equipped with vehicles which are suitble for transporting multiple vans. Obeviously, this must be done safely and places high demans on both personnel and equipment. Our workshop possesses the requiered experitse and heavy lifting equipment. Loading into a box truck or container is also a possibility off course.

How do I know where my purchased vehicle is and when it will arrive?

If you have chosen Kleyn to handle the transport, you can stay informed through updates from the seller or by creating a My Kleyn account during your first purchase. Your My Kleyn account will display your order history, allowing you to track the shipment of your purchased vehicle(s) via track and trace. During shipping, you can track the current location of the boat carrying your van on a map.

How do I obtain an export registration plate?

We can arrange this for you. Price and validity depends on the type of vehicle.

How can I view your stock?

On our premises, you will find all brands and models of vans. Would you like to come and see them and take a test drive? We're located in Vuren (NL), Genemuiden (NL), and Brussels (BE)! Prefer to browse online? You can view our entire stock online and choose your new van right away. This way, you can view all trucks at your leisure, whenever you want and at your convenience!

Can I visit you (without making an appointment) in order to view a vehicle?

You are welcome to visit us during opening hours to see a vehicle. All our vehicles are largely at the same location and our stock is over 450. However, we advise you to contact us beforehand as the vehicle may already have been sold as 150 new vehicles (vans, trucks and trailers) arrive every week.

How do you visit us?

You can fly by plane to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam The Hague Airport, Eindhoven Airport, Maastricht Aachen Airport or Weeze Niederrhein Düsseldorf Airport in Germany. We can arange a taxi for you to pick you up at the airport and bring you in a comfortable and fast way to our grounds in Vuren. When you keep in close contact with us, we’ll place a vehicle under reservation for 48 hours when you send us a copy of your flight details. You can also reach us by NS railway. The most nearby NS train stations are both Geldermalsen and Gorinchem. A taxi can pick you up there. When you’re very kind to them they will even carry your luggage and do some sightseeing on the way with you!

For your stay we have special discount on bed and breakfast arrangements at the comfortable Schildkamp Asperen Hotel. Please inform us before you decide to come over so we can help you to have a pleasant stay in The Netherlands while we arrange your vans for you.

Can I take the vehicle out for a test drive?

Yes, we allow test drives. While appointments are not required, we recommend scheduling one or at least checking if the vehicle is still available before your visit. You can schedule your test drive online on the vehicle's page of interest. If desired, a mechanic or salesperson can accompany you during your test drive to explain everything about the vehicle.

How can I search for a vehicle?

Our website offers you several ways to search for a van, namely: 

  • You can use the search bar at the top of the website to type in your specific criteria.
  • You can see all current offers on the homepage and click directly on an offer of interest.
  • You can indicate your selection in our stock. Weekly, 150 new vehicles are added.You can give us a search request. In that case, we will search for you the van that completely meets your requirements.
